The first workshop on transparent wood was held on June 13 at the Salone d'Onore of the Valentino Castle in Turin, Italy. The workshop was attended by 57 people from academia, research centres, and industry. The presentations that followed in the workshop provided an overview of the AI-Transpwood project, transparent wood and its characteristics and potential. The round table that took place in the afternoon featured experts in different fields (architecture, automotive, design, research, furniture, and lighting), who were able to stimulate an interesting discussion with the audience, offering valuable insights for the implementation of the research. The exhibition of transparent (including Transparent Wood) and non-transparent materials, curated by MATto (The materials library of Politecnico di Torino) intrigued participants and further stimulated discussion.
